Suzuki entered the Tokyo School of Fine Arts in 1916 and was selected for the Nika Exhibition for the first time. After working with Yorozu Tetsugor\u014d of the Enchokai, and Satomi Katsuz\u014d of the 1930 Society, he became a founding member of the Association of Independent Artists in 1930, which proclaimed the establishment of a new era of art. During the war, he was forced to produce war documentary paintings. In 1966 he went to Europe, and after returning to Japan, he held a solo exhibition with the works he created there.
