Phoenix and peony designs can be seen in the \u201cnigoshite\u201d milky-white base, so named for its resemblance to cloudy water, such as that seen after washing rice.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Made primarily for export, Kakiemon-style porcelain dominated the market during the second half of the 17<sup>th<\/sup> century.
