{"id":2688,"date":"2023-07-12T10:38:11","date_gmt":"2023-07-12T01:38:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hommamuseum-en.com\/?p=2688"},"modified":"2023-07-12T10:38:11","modified_gmt":"2023-07-12T01:38:11","slug":"message-from-hojo-yoshitoki-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hommamuseum-en.com\/?p=2688","title":{"rendered":"Message from H\u014dj\u014d Yoshitoki"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">6 June 1221 (J\u014dky\u016b 3)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Donated by the Homma family<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is a letter dated June 6 1221 from H\u014dj\u014d Yoshitoki (1163\u20131224), second regent of the Kamakura shogunate, addressed to Ichikawa Rokur\u014d of the Ministry of Justice, in his capacity as military governor of Shinano Province.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The letter pertains to Rokur\u014d\u2019s military exploits during the J\u014dky\u016b Rebellion, in which the Emperor Go-Toba planned to overthrow the shogunate. Yoshitoki praises his fighting the Emperor\u2019s forces, which included Nishina Morit\u014d at Kanbara in Echigo Province (present-day Itoigawa City, Niigata Prefecture).
