{"id":2931,"date":"2023-07-12T14:56:40","date_gmt":"2023-07-12T05:56:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hommamuseum-en.com\/?p=2931"},"modified":"2023-07-14T17:14:24","modified_gmt":"2023-07-14T08:14:24","slug":"tea-house-of-the-old-man-hiro-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hommamuseum-en.com\/?p=2931","title":{"rendered":"Tea House of the Old Man, Hir\u014d"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Shiba K\u014dkan<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">1784 (Tenmei 4)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tangible Cultural Property, designated by Sakata city<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Donated by the Homma family<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Shiba K\u014dkan(1747-1818) was a painter who achieved the first production of a copper corrosion engraving in Japan, and who was known for his distinctive oil-based color paintings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This image allows us to see the landscapes of the area around Azabu and Hir\u014d as they were around 230 years ago, with a single tea house standing amongst the wide-open, beautiful countryside of the Musashino plain with a distant view of Mt.Fuji in the distance.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">K\u014dkan would hold drinking parties at the \u201cOld Man Tea House\u201d in Hir\u014d alongside the scholar of Western sciences Katsuragawa Hosh\u016b and others, and the \u201cOld Man Tea House\u201d in this image is thought to represent that establishment.
