He is recognised for his efforts in helping to restore the Great Buddha Hall of T\u014ddaiji Temple which was destroyed by fire (for the second time in its history) in 1567. \u201cD\u014dan\u201d was the artist name used by three generations of artists, all of whom produced excellent ink wash paintings.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This particular painting is attributed to Yamada D\u014dan II (Junsei).
