The letter praises the conquest of Sh\u014dnai by Honj\u014d Shigenaga , a vassal of Uesugi Kagekatsu.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In August 1588, Honj\u014d Shigenaga\u2019s army fought the Mogami forces at J\u016bgorigahara (in present-day Tsuruoka) to regain control of this area.
