During the Man&#8217;en and Bunky\u016b eras (1860-1864) he worked on Yokohama-e (woodblock print ukiyo-e depicting Yokohama from the end of the Edo period to the beginning of the Meiji era), moving to the port itself during the early Meiji era in 1873, and changed his name to H\u014dsh\u016b.
