{"id":396,"date":"2022-04-04T17:46:07","date_gmt":"2022-04-04T08:46:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hommamuseum-en.com\/?p=396"},"modified":"2022-04-04T17:46:07","modified_gmt":"2022-04-04T08:46:07","slug":"specially-commissioned-doll%e3%80%80%e3%80%80kanzaki-yogoro-and-the-letter-of-apology","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hommamuseum-en.com\/?p=396","title":{"rendered":"Specially Commissioned Doll\u3000\u3000Kanzaki Yogor\u014d and the Letter of Apology"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Late Edo period~Meiji period\u3000Donated by the Sakata Chuo Senior High School Alumni Association (Formerly owned by the Shirasaki family)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This doll references a story from the Ch\u016bshingura (The Treasury of Loyal Retainers), a series of fictionalized accounts of the forty-seven r\u014dnin and their mission to avenge the death of their lord and master, Asano Naganori.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kanzaki Yogor\u014d, a r\u014dnin from Ako, received a secret order from his leader \u014cishi Kuranosuke to make his way to Edo from Kyoto. While resting at a teahouse in the Hakone mountains, he was repeatedly accosted by a man named Ushigor\u014d, who was an \u2018umakata\u2019 (person who transports people and goods by horse).
