{"id":4137,"date":"2024-02-26T10:14:19","date_gmt":"2024-02-26T01:14:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hommamuseum-en.com\/?p=4137"},"modified":"2024-02-26T10:14:19","modified_gmt":"2024-02-26T01:14:19","slug":"letter-from-tokugawa-mitsukuni-to-the-seyakuin-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hommamuseum-en.com\/?p=4137","title":{"rendered":"Letter from Tokugawa Mitsukuni to the Seyakuin"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>April 8<sup>th<\/sup> (Year unknown)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Donated by the Homma Family<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is a letter from Tokugawa Mitsukuni to Yakuin S\u014dhaku (1576-1663), physician to the Edo Sh\u014dgunate (later to be a physician in the Imperial Court).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tokugawa Mitsukuni (1628-1700) was the second lord of Mito Domain, and the grandson of Sh\u014dgun Tokugawa Ieyasu. He\u2019s well-known by the name \u201cMito Komon.\u201d He had his coming of age ceremony on July 6<sup>th<\/sup>, 1636, whereupon he took the name \u201cMitsukuni,\u201d having been granted the use of the character \u201cMitsu\u201d from the name of the third sh\u014dgun, Tokugawa Iemitsu.
