The origin of the name <em>Ulala<\/em> is unknown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Tamba ware kilns are said to have first been established at the end of the Heian period. By the early Edo period, everyday utensils and tea utensils were being fired there using a combination of red, ash, and black glazes unique to Tanba ware. Later, tea ceremony utensils known as Ensh\u016b Tanba, which were favored by Ensh\u016b Kobori (a famous tea master held in high regard by feudal lords), were also produced there.
