It is adorned with the crests of the Sakai and Maeda families, the wood sorrel (\u2018Katabami-mon\u2019) and plum blossom (\u2018Umebachi-mon\u2019) respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The lacquered washbasin with ear-shaped handles (mimidarai, literally \u2018ear-like basin or tub\u2019) was used by women as part of their teeth blackening practice.
