Chinese Taikai Tea Container with Inscription “Bon”

This is a Chinese taikai tea container made in the Fujian region, in the south of China. It displays a wide rim and low neck, with its torso shaped like an abacus bead, and amber and yellow-brown glaze flows from the shoulder.Taikai tea containers were at the height of their appreciation around the end of the Tenbun era (1532-55).
