Overglazed enamel bowl with tower and landscape motif

Early Edo period (late 17th century)

Donated by the Homma family

This bowl in the Kakiemon style was fired at the Hizen Arita kiln in the late seventeenth century. It is carefully painted with red, blue, green, and yellow overglaze, and exemplifies the extraordinary skill of Arita artisans at the time.
