Wazen Eiraku

Wazen Eiraku (1823–1896) was the twelfth generation of the Eiraku family of Kyōto ware potters, active from the end of the Edo period to the Meiji period. He was one of the Senke Jushoku, the elite group of craftsmen authorized by the Senke family to make utensils for use in tea ceremony. He produced a wide variety of works, from tea bowls to plates to incense containers, demonstrating his outstanding pottery skills in a wide range of styles.
