Jōkyō to Hōei era (1684–1711)
Donated by the Homma family
Shizutani ware was produced in the Shizutani area of Iri Village in Wake-gun, Bizen Province (present-day Okayama Prefecture) during the Jōkyō and Hōei eras. Unlike Bizen ware, Shizutani ware was often glazed and painted with iron. Ornamental Shizutani ware items were especially outstanding.
