Donated by the Homma family

Kiseto ware is a type of Mino ware produced at the Mino kilns in Gifu Prefecture along with Shino, Setoguro, and Oribe ware. During the Edo period, these types were all known as Seto ware. As the name implies, it is characterized by its yellow (黄,“ki”) glaze. Relatively few kiseto tea ceremony vessels have been found to exist; kiseto ware censers, incense containers, and tableware are much more numerous.
